How to use R.E.C.K
R.E.C.K solution is a sterile solution and comes in a pre-filled, ready-to-administer container to save time and reduce waste. OR team members can simply decant the product into a sterile container and draw it up into their preferred combination of syringe and needle. They can then administer R.E.C.K as a periarticular injection.
An injection of ropivacaine, epinephrine, clonidine and ketorolac (R.E.C.K) is used as part of a multimodal pain regimen as a way to minimize postoperative pain and support patients’ recovery from their surgery. Poor pain management can increase the cost of care, lead to lengthier hospital stays, reduce functional outcomes, result in chronic pain syndromes, side effects from chronic analgesic and opioid use. Below, you can download The Journal of Arthroplasty prospective, a randomized, double-blind study for the appropriate use of R.E.C.K.
